Shimla
There is no off-season for a vacation in Shimla and the 1,000 odd hotels here bear witness to this fact. Albeit a little crowded in summers due to its popularity, Shimla is full of excitement in winters with its snowy peaks and adventure sports that set the adrenaline rushing. Situated in the north-west Himalayas, Shimla has come a long from being a tiny village to being a fashionable summer capital and now the most popular hill station in India. Spread over many hills and ridges, it is named after a local deity - Shamala Devi, an incarnation of goddess Kali.


Kufri
Kufri is located in the southern part of the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is situated at an altitude of 2,510 m above sea level amongst the foothills of the Himalayas. It is 13 km from Shimla.At a height of 2501 ms, girded by awesome pinncles, Kufri is a scenic hill resort 13 kms from Shimla. From December to March it wears its white winter garb, with snow trimmings on its undulating slopes are fashioned by nature to exhilarate lovers of winter sports. Skiing facilities and training for beginners are available during the best part of winter.


Chail
Chail was essentially a sleepy little mountain village set in a beautiful locale till the 19th century. Its transformation began in 1893, when the Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala decided to create a new summer capital which would be 'better' than Shimla; all this for a bruised ego, after he was banished from Shimla for eloping with Lord Kitchner's daughter. Lord Kitchner just happened to be the Commander-in-Chief of the British Indian Army at that time. The present Chail is spread over an area of 72 acres on three adjacent hills-the Rajgarh Hill where the Palace is built, the Pandava Hill where the old Residency 'Snow View' is located and where the British Resident lived, and finally the Siddh Tibba, where the temple of Baba Sidhnath is located at a height of 2226 ft.


Naldehra
Naldehra is located at a distance of 22 kms from Simla, the capital city of Himachal Pradesh. Mashobra Naldehra and Tattapani are on the same route so all the three places are covered in one go by the tourists in general. Tattapani is 30 Kms from this place, tourists wanting their trip to cover Kufri generally drop this place from their eternity. There is a diversion to these places from the national highway towards the left a few kilometers before Kufri. This place can be reached easily by taxi or by the popular Himachal tourism daily bus trips. Tatapani
This place is is known for its hot water springs. Tattapani is located at a distance of 51 kilometers from Shimla. The place is at an elevation of 655 meters above sea level. people taking bath in hot sulphur springs in Tattapani Tattapani is an ideal locale for enjoyment and recreation. The springs are found on the banks of river Sutlej covering an area of one square kilometer. People from all over the country visit the place to take a dip into the sulphur water of the spring. A dip into the water of the spring provides relief to the people suffering from joint pains, fatigue or any type of skin disease and hence has got a great medicinal quality. This natural sulphur spring is pure and has curative powers of various kinds. The temperature of the water keeps fluctuating depending on the water level of the river.



Narkanda
At 9,000 feet among the dense woodlands of mixed tropical forests, surrounded by small villages and apple orchards lies Narkanda. A two hours drive from Shimla on the Hindustan Tibet Road (NH-22), a meandering drive with breathtaking views takes you to Narkanda, a perfect place for peace and tranquility. With a spectacular view of the snow peaks, this place is ideal for seeking seclusion in the serene mountains. The region is the abode to enormous groves of hilly cherries and apple treesThe area has forests of fir and spruce, with a smattering of maple, aspen and cedar trees. A wooded trek route takes you to Hatu Peak unfolding a magnificent vista of undulating meadows, snow peaks and valleys.


Sankat Mochan
Shri Sankat Mochan temple is situated at a distance of about 5 K.m from Shimla and is located at Tara Devi on the Kalka- Shimla National Highway. This temple is very easily approachable and is one of the most sought after site to be visited not only by the devotees and pilgrims but also by the tourists of all age groups visiting Shimla, the Hill capital of Himachal Pradesh
